Frequently Asked Questions
Can we take orders before buying the reflective markers?
Yes. We realize that the initial outlay may prevent some groups from initiating this project, but please be aware that it is much easier to sell the signs if you have some on hand to show your residents. People buy when they can see and feel the signs.
Is there a minimum number of markers that we must buy?
No. We prefer that you order a minimum of 25 markers, but we’ll accept any order for you to get started. Most customers start with 50-100 signs. Orders of 200-500 are also fairly common.
How much should we charge for the signs?
Consider this: Is it more important to focus on increasing the visibility of your markers, or is your priority generating revenue? Based on our experience, most of our clients sell their markers for anywhere between $15 and $25. We recommend setting the price at $20, as it’s an amount most people are willing to spend.
To maximize exposure and sales, we suggest promoting your markers on your Facebook page. Many of our clients have seen great success using social media to engage with their community. Additionally, offering the signs for free while requesting donations for your organization can lead to impressive results. The success of this approach depends largely on the level of awareness and support within your community, as well as the valuable work your organization does for them.
Are the numbers hard to apply to the blank?
Not at all. The numbers are peel and stick numbers, and we will supply you with reusable templates for aligning the numbers.
How soon will our markers be shipped after ordering?
Normally, we expect to ship your order via UPS that same day. Very rarely we may run into a temporary material shortage, but even in those rare instances orders are shipped within 1 to 2 weeks.

Marketing Tips
Location Matters – Get the Right Sign Placement Quickly
First and foremost, it’s crucial to identify the best locations for displaying reflective address signs as soon as possible. Over the past 20 years, we’ve had the privilege of supplying over 5,000 fire departments with these vital tools. While we may never know the exact number of lives saved or property damage limited, the importance of having a visible 911 address sign—especially at night—cannot be overstated. Even saving just one life makes all of the effort worthwhile. Thank you for everything you do for your community!
Word of Mouth – The Key to Expanding Your Program
Word of mouth plays a pivotal role in the success of your program. As more reflective address signs are distributed, more people will see them and understand their importance, prompting them to want one for their own property. The hardest part of this process is getting started, but don’t worry—we’re here to help. Over the years, many organizations have found success with a few strategies, and we’re happy to share these ideas with you. If you have any unique approaches that work for your group, let us know, and we’ll pass them along to others to help them succeed as well.
Distribute Flyers at Community Locations
Place flyers at high-traffic community spots such as convenience stores, grocery stores, libraries, gas stations, village halls, senior centers, and community centers. These locations provide high visibility and allow you to reach a broad audience. Additionally, consider setting up a table at local events like monthly breakfasts, fish fries, and other community gatherings. This will allow you to both distribute flyers and sell the markers directly. To further increase awareness, reach out to your local newspaper and request an article highlighting the benefits of reflective address signs, such as uniform addressing and improved emergency response times. Local newspapers are often looking for community-focused stories and would likely be willing to help promote your initiative.
Door-to-Door Outreach – The Personal Touch
While door-to-door efforts can be time-consuming, they are one of the most effective ways to generate interest and increase sales, particularly at the beginning. Distribute flyers through avenues such as PTAs/PTOs, township newsletters, or even with tax bills. The more people that see the flyer, the more likely they are to purchase a sign. Involving local youth groups, such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Eagle Scouts, can also be a great way to spread the word. These groups are often looking for public service projects and can help you reach a larger audience.
Utilize Local Media – Newspapers, Radio, and Cable
Placing an ad in your local newspaper is another effective marketing tactic. Many newspapers are willing to provide free space for community-focused initiatives. Additionally, promote your program through local radio stations. Many fire chiefs have reported that their stations are more than happy to help spread the word about community service projects. Many local cable companies also offer channels dedicated to community service messages, which can be a powerful tool for reaching your audience. Several of our clients have seen great success by leveraging these free or low-cost media opportunities.
Free Yard Signs – Spread the Word Easily
We offer complimentary 18” x 24” yard signs with the message “Reflective Address Signs Available Here.” These signs are a fantastic way to increase visibility and spread the word about your program. Simply request them from us, and you’ll have a valuable tool to place in prominent locations around your community.
Partner with Local Groups to Increase Outreach
Consider partnering with other local organizations like 4-H, Cub Scouts, or Boosters to increase your outreach efforts. Many of our clients prioritize getting the signs into as many homes as possible over maximizing profits. By involving more groups and people, you can more quickly get the markers up and make a larger impact in your community.
Engage Your Local Postmaster for Wider Reach
Another potential outreach strategy is to contact your local Postmaster. Several groups have had success with the postal service distributing flyers to everyone in a specific area. While this may not be an option in all regions, some communities have a postal committee that oversees such requests. If you can demonstrate how the signs benefit both emergency responders and the postal service itself, you may be able to secure this valuable distribution method.
